Episode 03 ~ My Love From Another Star/You Who Came From The Stars

So far this episode has been the best...

Stricken with appendicitis, Song-Yi tries, without success, to have someone take her to the hospital.  When she is told to call 911 by her manager because he can't help her, Song-Yi curses at him because calling 911 would cause her condition to become public.  Min-Joon gets stuck having to take her to the hospital.

The exchange between them is hilarious after she tells the resident doctor that Min-Joon is her manager.  The doctor walks away while telling Min-Joon he needed to fill out the paperwork.  Min-Joon is reluctant to be her "manager" and the look on his face when he realizes he's answered the doctor after he's called "manager" was hilarious...

There is a nice moment when Song-Yi is being wheeled into the operating room and she grabs Min-Joon and she asks him to stay with her.  She wants him to stay and be there when she wakes up.  He says nothing as they wheel her in and she is forced to release her grip on Min-Joon's clothes.  He walks away with no intention of staying but ends up going back and sitting down to wait.

What follows next after she is out of surgery and given nurse's orders is so funny.  From the moment the nurse tells Song-Yi what she has to do in order to get released up to the point where she complies with the order is funny.

Episode 01 ~ My Love From Another Star/You Who Came From The Stars

I liked the beginning of this drama.  I'm not too crazy about Kim Soo-Hyun (Do Min-Joon); he has weird eyes and I don't find him that attractive.  As I watch "My Love From Another Star", I'm sure I will change my mind.  I have watched plenty of dramas where the lead or second lead guy is not very handsome and somewhere along the line, his personality wins me over and I'm head over heels for him!  But for now...Kim Soo-Hyun does nothing for me!

I don't quite like Gianna Jun (Cheon Song-Yi) either.  Not sure what it is about her that rubs me wrong.  I'm sure it's not the character because I've taken a liking to many bitchy girls in a drama; but this one is different.  It's still early in the drama yet so she may win me over anyway.

So far I like this drama.  I remembered to take a few early screenshots and I forgot to take some of episode 02 :P

I don't want to talk too much about the episodes because I have a habit of going on and on and I don't want to tell too much and ruin it for someone.

The gist of the drama is that Do Min-Joon has been on earth since the very early 1600s and is due to go back to his planet in three months.  In the 400+ years he has been on earth, of course, he has not aged.

There is an incident at the beginning of the drama where he saves a 15 year old widow from certain death by stopping time (screenshots below).  12 years prior to the present time, he rescues a girl from being hit by a truck and when he sees her, she is the spitting image of the 15 year old widow he once rescued.  He is hoping to meet her before he goes back to his planet but realizes that if it's meant to be, he will find that girl.  In the meantime, the girl now grown, has never forgotten the man who saved her.  She remembers seeing his face but does not remember what he looked like.

That's all I'll say for now because I can go on and on about this first episode but it's better if you watch it yourself!

Episode 01 Screenshots.  I made sure to share a gratuitous photo of Kim Soo-Hyun in the shower :)

Episode 06 ~ The Prime Minister and I

Again I have to say Oooo... I see where this is going now!  I see it yet I'm not confident enough to say that's how it's going for sure.  I've watched a lot of dramas (Korean and Japanese) and they are for the most part, mostly predictable but every once in a while one will make you think they are going one way and out of nowhere they take you somewhere totally not where you thought. THOSE are the best story lines.  For now, I see where this story is going in regards to Director Kang.

Director Kang's face after Nam Da Jung tells him her father saw him at the nursing home...

Seems like Director Kang is hiding something.  Whenever he's asked something, he always has a sound reply for it.

Episode 05 ~ The Prime Minister and I

Oooo...I was right.  My Yoon Si-Yoon (Director Kang) is up to something... I won't say what my suspicions are just in case someone who hasn't watched is reading.  My suspicions don't add up though if I take into account something that happened in episode 2.  But I have a theory about that so...if I see evidence of that later on, then it will jibe with what I'm thinking!!!

각시탈 ~ Gaksital ~ Bridal Mask [2012]

Thanks to another post by +Sarah Lantz, I've added yet another Joo Won drama to my list.  Sooner or later I would have discovered the last two on my own but once I hear about it, I have to list it.  This one will need to wait though until I've finished another drama.  I definitely have too many to watch now!

총리와 나 ~ The Prime Minister and I

While my lunch is warming up, I decided to screenshot the three main characters from "The Prime Minister and I".

I know Lee Beom-Soo from "Iris II" and Yoon Si-Yoon is my first Korean ♥.  I will watch him in anything!!  That's the only reason I started to watch this drama.  Si-Yoon and Joo Won ("Baking King: Kim Tak Gu") are both brilliant and talented actors.  They are both amazing at being able to transform themselves into different characters.  There is no way these two will ever get typecast as a particular kind of character.

I'm into episode 4 now and I'm not too thrilled with Si-Yoon's role so far.  He's always played a carefree, loveable, and funny personality type and in this drama, as Kang In-Ho, he's just a bit too serious but at times, he's gets this look on his face as if he has an agenda.  It might be that he has one or maybe it's just something to throw us off.

Lunch is ready...enjoy the screenshots.  I'm going to watch episode 4 and then later tonight I will watch the "Heirs" Christmas episode!

별에서 온 그대 (You Who Came From The Stars)

Not sure what to call this.  I guess I'll call it "My Lover From Another Star" because that's what +DramaFever is calling it!

I don't think I know any actors on this one though I admit I am still not very good with the names.  I might recognize a face and then I'll realize who it is.  I'm adding this drama to my list of watching because I heard it is getting good reviews.

Has anyone started watching this and how good is it?  Please don't be too specific!!

Jang Geun Suk "Pretty Man"

Catching up with "Pretty Man" tonight.

I started watching this despite the fact that the commercials for it made it look real stupid.  Luckily, I was caught up with my other dramas and needed a filler while I waited and I chose to give "Pretty Man" a try.

The first episode was rough to watch.  Jang Geun Suk with that long hair was very good looking BUT not good looking enough that I could imagine everyone he met going crazy over his hotness.  There are other actors they could have gotten for that role that are way way hotter than Jang Geun Suk.  Once he decided to get a new hairstyle, it made him look even more handsome...yet still not as hot as he is supposed to be.  At least I don't think so.

He is a really good looking man though..No doubt about that!

Episode 01 : Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi

Starting episode 01 today.  If anyone wants to watch this, please send me an email.  I can send you the link from one of my accounts.  I have the english subs as well.  Will add more to this post once I'm done watching!  Stay tuned!

Episode 01 : "I take on the work on behalf of a pro wrestler"

In this first episode, a former "pro" wrestler asks Keisuke (Eita) and Haruhiko (Matsuda) to become his opponents for his retirement fight.  Keisuke doesn't want to do it despite the wrestler's offer to give them all the admission fees as payment.  Haruhiko reminds Keisuke they will do almost any job possible.  Keisuke agrees.

The boys train with pro wrestler "Stun Gun Nishimura" and when the final fight comes, it goes well and the fight ends as intended.  However, during the ceremony at the end, Nishimura's old partner starts to make trouble.

Ojakgyo Brothers

While I was on Google+ yesterday I saw a post from a K-drama lover who was looking for a way to watch "Ojakgyo Brothers" (also known as "Ojakgyo Family") on her iPhone.  She was saying she watches at night when she walks her treadmill because if she watches on her laptop, it's too bright and it bothers her husband.  As I tried to Google app info for her, I realized Joo Won ("Baking King: Kim Tak Gu" and "Good Doctor") is in it as is Uee ("Barefoot Friends").  I loved Joo Won in both dramas I saw him in especially "Good Doctor" because he was so good in it.

I've added "Ojakgyo Brothers" to my list of K-dramas to watch!

Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi

I picked "Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi" as my next J-drama because of the 7 available on DramaFever, I've seen "Last Cinderella" and the others did not look appealing.  So I had to look elsewhere and I'm in the process of getting "Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi".  As soon as I have the first episode, I'll start watching it.

Picked this one because it's from Winter 2013 season and it has two actors I already know.  Eita ("Last Friends", "Unfair", "Water Boys", and "Lucky Seven") and Ryuhei Matsuda ("Ashita no Kita Yoshio" and the movies "Nightmare Detective 1 & 2" and "Gohatto").

Heirs

I had heard of Lee Min-Ho but never really looked at who he was.  Not really that interested enough.  Then, because I knew Park Shin-Hye (Ko Dok-Mi from "Flower Boy Next Door") was going to be in "Heirs", I decided to watch.  That's when I saw... really saw... Lee Min-Ho.  Wow...

He's freaking gorgeous!!!  And as if that wasn't enough... I saw Choi Jin-Hyuk (Koo Wol-Ryung from "Gu Family Book") as his brother.

Wow...

I'm on episode 7 now and the whole drama has been awesome so far.  Sadly, by the time I'm done with episode 8, I'll be caught up and I'll be waiting like everyone else for episode 9 *sigh*

Gu Family Book

I started watching this for the same reason I started to watch "Flower Boy Next Door"...I saw a lot of ads for it.  From the first episode, I was totally hooked.  Especially because of Choi Jin-Hyuk's role as Gu Wol-ryung!!

And Jin-hyuk as himself... so gorgeous... I love his lips and he's got a beautiful smile *sigh*

And I also fell for his "son" Choi Kang-chi played by Lee Seung-gi...

Seung-gi has a nice smile as well.  Love that he's got a little dimple on the right side of his face every time he smiles.  I didn't like him when he was first on because I wanted more Wol-ryung but Kang-chi grew on me and now I'm crazy about him!!

Park Si-hoo

Wow...he's gorgeous...

Confession of Murder: That's it...

I'm gonna try not to post more on this.  The scene at the police department when Lee goes to see Lt. Choi is hilarious.  Last thing I'll say about this is... Statute of Limitations is 15 years for murder.  This guy doesn't look like he's anywhere past the age of 25.  The guy in the alley was definitely not 10 years old.  Lee is also slim in build but the guy in the alley was a little pudgy.  No way it's the same guy.

I'm going to keep this movie for a while.  If anyone wants a copy, send me an email and I'll send you the link for my personal download.  It is, of course, subtitled in English.

Confession of Murder: The Killer...

Park Si-hoo as the killer/author, Lee Doo-seok at the book signing.  They just had to go and make the bad guy kinda hot didn't they?

Confession of Murder 02

Wow.  Brother commits suicide.  Won't tell you why; you'll have to watch the movie...

Confession of Murder

Oh hell...seven minutes in and the murderer has already killed a woman AND slashed the cop's mouth.  Ugh...gross.  This is gonna be a great movie!!

Korean Movies

I guess it's about time I jumped into the world of Korean movies.  After looking at a few titles, I've decided to make "Confession of Murder" my first K-movie.

In Korean it's 내가 살인범이다 (literally "I'm A Killer") or Naega Salinbeon.  The plot summary from Asianwiki site:

After the expiration of the statute of limitations, serial killer Lee Doo-Suk publishes his book "I'm A Killer" which becomes a best seller.  The book depticts crimes he committed in the past.  Meanwhile, Det. Choi Hyung-Goo attempts to capture the serial killer he missed 15 years ago.

I should have a copy by tomorrow.  We'll see how it goes.

I promise

I got busy.  I got lazy.

I promise to update my drama list this week and I'll even start writing about the new one I started to watch yesterday.  I started watching "Coffee Prince" because I've heard good things about it.  I've watched 2 episodes and so far I really like it.

I've been idle

Wow. I can't believe it's been since March that I write.  I've already finished watching IRIS and IRIS II.  Now I'm looking for a new K or J drama to watch.  I need suggestions!!!!

K-Drama: Baking King, Kim Tak Goo

I absolutely LOVED this one!!!  I am so head over heels with Yoon Si-Yoon!!!  So far I've seen him in 2 dramas and he's just blown me away.  Saw him first in "Flower Boy Next Door".  Didn't really like him at first...Didn't think he was much to look at; but the more I saw him as Enrique Geum, the more he won me over.  So much so that's why I watched him in Baking King.  As Tak Goo he was awesome.  He really is an exceptional actor.  I'm going to watch him in yet another one while I wait for his newest one (which I don't think there is one YET).

From the first to the last episode, I loved the whole story.  In the end everything came together the right way.  I couldn't have agreed more with the ones who got what they had coming.  I hope they make an SP taking place a few years later.

I can't even summarize this story without giving away some key elements to it that would be better off left unknown to the viewer when they watch it.  Suffice it to say it was great story and I highly recommend it.

Yoon Si-Yoon as "Kim Tak-Goo"
